It required a lot of setting up, and was only suitable for volume jobs, Then came HTV AND Heat Transfer Foil Printing, this was a time consuming process that had extra steps involved over normal HTV printing, while allowing for small quantity jobs, it was expensive due to the labor costs. And then came the DTG Foil Printing Process a digital method that we used had to have speciality materials that were hard to source in reasonable quantities,and were problematic due to its lack of use – all of which contributed to its eventual being discontinuation due the overall problems.
But with the advent of Direct-to-Film (DTF) specialty foils, we at The Custom T Shirt Shop are excited to reintroduce this service in a more efficient and cost effective process.

The traditional method involved applying an adhesive base layer onto the fabric before using a heat press to apply the metallic foils onto it using high temperatures and pressure using specialised equipment. This resulted in beautiful but fragile designs that were prone to cracking or peeling over time.
But now with DTF specialty foils this eliminates these issues, we now directly printing your design onto a specialty film using DTF ink and printing process, then applying a layer of adhesive, curing and then transfer the design onto your T Shirts or apparel. It just could not be simpler.
